Stephen’s teaching method involves a sense of humour, spontaneity and slowing down sequences with emphasis on pranayama (breath). He introduces subtle aspects of Buddhism to his classes without losing the integrity of the yoga tradition. His primary Yoga teachers are: Shôken Michael Stone, Richard Freeman, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Eoin Finn & Ryan Leier, and his Buddhist teacher is The Venerable Khenpo Sonam Rinpoche.
Steve’s teacher trainings include; Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami, Moksha Yoga, Blissology Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, as well several ongoing intensives with Shôken Michael Stone, Richard Freeman and Ryan Leier. He continues to learn, evolve and build upon his practice drawing from the Krishnamacharya Vinyasa Krama tradition and exploring how to apply the teachings in a ”Yoga for Today’s People” approach. He believes that Yoga is about intimacy and waking up to your life and loves the words of George Eliot-“it’s never too late to be what you might have been”
Steve is a father to his son Finn William, a Buddhist, Executive Chef of the Adelaide Oyster House, ocean worshipper, surfer, and music lover. He is a student of the Vajrayana School of Tibetan Buddhism in the Riwoche Lineage.
