It’s about time you meet Elyse. This yogi is calm, cool, and collected. She’s a good girl to have around here. Her sweet demeanor and humour is a treat to all who get to work along side her.
Elyse has been part of the Moksha gang for about two years now. What does she do for fun, you ask? She loves walking her dog, loves learning about wine… and definitely drinking it, and cooking – it’s really zen for her.
Q: What do you love most about the Energy Exchange Program?
A: This is probably going to sound cliché at this point – but it’s the community you get to be a part of. It has such an amazing atmosphere that it almost forces you to come back, and pushes you to make time for yoga.
Q: What makes Elyse, Elyse?
… Somewhere there’s a combination of wine in there. I’m a Project Support Coordinator, and I’ve always been somewhat in that role, or a role like it. I like to support people, and make stuff happen – it’s who I am. I started out heavily involved in the Arts, and naturally flowed into project coordination.
Q: What colour best describes you?
Blue – it suits me. The water, the sky – it makes me calm and happy. And there’s so many shades, it’s also the colour of my eyes, so it’s part of me!
Q: If you could go on a picnic with anyone fictional who would it be?
A: (She decides there’s too many, as asks if she can think about it during yoga and get back to me…) Dr. Mindy Lahiri from The Mindy Project
Q: What’s your spirit animal?
A: A dog! They’re loyal, friendly, they love a good routine, and they’re just happy. They know how to live in the moment, and don’t expect too much – I like that mentality.
Q: If you could back in time where would go?
A: If I didn’t have to worry about the state of the world I’d love to live in the early teens (the dress up is amaziiiing), and of course the roaring 20s.
Q: Your pizza: Pineapple or no pineapple?
Q: Favourite yoga memory:
A: The time I did yoga next to a man who looked like Thor… like the Chris Hemsworth Thor – super tall, super handsome.
Q: What’s a word that your mom would use to best describe you?
“It’ll happen because it has to.” – I’m starting to come around to things happening for a reason. But professionally, knowing that ‘whether or not I’m prepared – it’s going to happen’ has calmed me… life is inevitable.
