Prenatal Yoga

Join Erica (mother, prenatal yoga teacher and birth doula in training) for a series of postures carefully designed to strengthen and stretch your changing body as well as help your baby move in an optimal birthing position. We’ll work with your breath to calm the body & mind, learn yoga poses to ease common pregnancy ailments, and use meditation to prepare for birth and beyond!

Candlelit Moksha: Speak Your Peace

Speak Your Peace is an International awareness and action campaign that seeks to expand the definition of peace each year. We reflect on peace, donate two months of karma class funds to support peace-full initiatives, and engage our voices through community action! For this class you can use your existing membership or make a minimum $10 donation. All funds received from this class will go to Amnesty International.

Youth Yoga 3-Week Session

Youth Yoga 3-week session on Sundays: September 10 – 24. Youth classes are held in the non-heated room at MYSJ and we offer adult classes at the same times so you can drop in to a class while your child practices at the same time in the next room.

It’s about time you meet Elyse. This yogi is calm, cool, and collected. She’s a good girl to have around here. Her sweet demeanor and humour is a treat to all who get to work along side her.

This giggly, happy, dynamo yogi… her name’s Paige. She’s quite the girl #behindthesweat. When she’s not smiling, hugging you, or doing a good deed at the studio you can find her cooking, doing ‘outdoorsy things’, or running around George Street, ;). She’s also a busy commerce student, Nova Scotia-bred, and plays the piano. Neat!

It’s about time we introduce Krista Turpin. This gal – she’s positive, hilarious, caring, protective and so, so kind. She’s a friend to all, and we’re so thankful to have her. Krista has been a dedicated yogi #behindthesweat since the summer of 2014.

If you haven’t met Lesley Butler yet, you’re missing out. This dynamic, energetic, hilarious yogi is the coolest, like seriously. She’s super active, and loves being outside rock-climbing, hiking, or hanging out with Queen Bey (NOT that one), her dog!

Next up is Kathleen! She’s been helping out at the studio for about a year now, and loves the postitivity of the program. When she’s not at the studio, Kathleen can be found studying, going out to eat, or going dancing.

It’s Michelle! Time to meet this force #behindthesweat. Michelle is a smarty-pants, a firecracker, a beautiful, kind spirit who you always want around. You just know when she’s around – she got the kind of energy you just can’t miss. And we never want to!
When Michelle isn’t at the studio practicing you can find her at the gym, studying politics, reading… pretty much always learning. And if you still can’t find her, she’s down the street serving you the most delicious tacos at your favourite neighbourhood Oyster House.😉. Michelle began exchanging her energy with us last June, and we’ve been smitten ever since.
