This little beam of light #behindthesweat is Jessyca and has been an Energy Exchanger since early last summer! She’s such a delight, super helpful, and helps to make this sangha a happy, positive place.
When she’s not at the studio you can find her eating pizza, watching movies, and just plain hanging out. She likes her quiet time, and likes to relax (don’t we all!). This devote yogi is also studying to receive her 200hr teacher training certificate from Shakti yoga – super cool! Let’s find out more about Jessyca!
Q: How long have you been part of the program
A: Since June of 2016
Q: What do you love most about being an Energy Exchanger?
A: As cliche as it sounds – the community and the people in program. It’s a great place to feel like you belong. It’s a great opportunity for people who aren’t in a place financially, that they can practice in a community as much as they want. The program is family, you feel like you’re part of something great.
Q: What word best describes you?
A: ‘Quirky’, I think! I’m a little awkward, so yeah!
Q: Who is the most inspirational person you know?
A: Julia-Marie – she inspires me now. She’s very dedicated to her practice – watching and seeing her dedication to her practice is truly inspiring.
Q: Name one weird thing you own.
A: For Christmas Deidre gave me little dream catcher dolls. They’re lovely, and very cute, in an endearing way.
Q: What’s the most interesting thing to happen to you today?
A: This whole experience! Getting my photos done, and chatting with you!
Q: Who would you like to be for a day?
A: This is toss up. Either Freddy Mercury or Kathy Noseworthy (The resemblance is uncanny, hey Kathy? (; ) Well, maybe a mixture of the two. They both exude a great confidence in the sense that they both are truly comfortable in their own skin, and they don’t care what anyone is doing or thinking – I love that!
Q: Favourite yoga pose?
A: Straight-legged triangle
Q: What type of flower would you be?
A: A carnation – simple & pretty
Q: Who would you most like to meet, dead or alive?
A: Easy, David Bowie!
